Year 7 introduces students to the depth and breadth of secondary study. Specialist teaching, increased academic expectations, and a focus on strong study habits lay firm foundations for success in the years ahead. Students learn to manage a fuller timetable, organise their own work, and think critically across a widening range of disciplines.
As students grow into young adults, AICC’s Islamic Ethos continues to guide their learning and conduct. Year 7 students are encouraged to engage thoughtfully with their faith, developing the maturity, integrity, and sense of responsibility that define a well-rounded young Muslim. Faith and learning go hand in hand throughout the school day.
The move to secondary school can be a significant step, and our teachers provide the guidance and individual attention each student needs to settle and succeed. We focus on building confidence, independence, and organisational skills, creating a supportive environment where every Year 7 student can reach their full potential.
Year 7 students learn in well-equipped, modern spaces designed to support a richer and more varied curriculum. Our teaching methods encourage active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration, helping students develop the skills and attitudes that underpin lifelong learning.
We monitor each student’s progress carefully through a combination of classroom assessment, formal examinations, and standardised testing, including NAPLAN and PAT. Parents receive regular progress reports and meet with teachers at scheduled interviews throughout the year, with ongoing results available through Compass. Where students need extra support or extension, our diagnostic assessments and intervention programs ensure they receive the right help at the right time.
A strong home and school partnership is especially valuable during the transition to secondary school. Through regular communication, reporting, and involvement, parents remain key partners in their child’s education, working alongside our staff to ensure each student is well supported.
AICC sets ambitious targets for continuous growth, monitoring student progress, wellbeing, and the views of our families and staff. We celebrate every achievement and remain committed to ensuring each Year 7 student begins their secondary journey academically strong, personally confident, and grounded in faith.
